Justin Bieber performed in Orlando last night, making his concert a tribute to the 50 victims of the city's horrifying two shootings.
He first spoke to the crowd about how deeply the news affected him. "You guys have been in my heart," he said. "I've just been thinking of the families and really feeling for them. It's hard to really be happy in a time like this so it means a lot to see you guys out here, smiling."
"It's no joke. It's tough. This is such a moment for us to be together. We have to continue to be strong. So much love goes out to all the families, so much love. But let's also, let's just celebrate. They can't take down Orlando."
Bieber later sang "Purpose" with the names of the 49 victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting, along with Christina Grimmie's (the Voice singer who was shot by a crazed fan the night before), rolling down behind him.
Down to the last minute, the show paid homage, with the hashtag #orlandostrong appearing on screens at the very end.
"I'm on your side. I'm on this journey with you all," Bieber told the audience during the show. "Don't ever feel like you're on your journey alone, I'm with you. Don't ever be afraid to be yourself."
