Jacquees caused a stir last year when he boldly declared himself the "King of R&B."
“I just want everyone to know that I am the King of R&B for this generation,” said Jacquees in an Instagram video . “I understand who did it before and who did that and that and that, but now it's my turn… I'm feeling that way. ATL, let's understand. I am the new King of R&B. ”
Jacques did not abandon this belief. On Thursday, the singer delivered his second album, nicknamed King of R&B. The album's title, of course, rekindled the controversy surrounding Jacquees' statements, which he addressed during an appearance on Sway in the Morning.
Jacques claimed he did not begin to hate others until he was crowned King of the genre. He then responded to YK Osiris's recent interview, in which the young man stated that his music was superior to Jacquees's, and called Chris Brown the true King of R&B. Jacquees was not concerned with the criticism. “It is a free world. Everyone can do whatever they want, ”said Jacquees when asked about Osiris' comments. "Who are we talking about?"
The King of R&B album features appearances from Quavo, TI, Tory Lanez and more, coming a little more year after Jacquees released his first album, 4275. You can broadcast the project below.
