The weather - was sunny and spring-like on Saturday. The high was over 50.

This was my front yard on Saturday evening.  The cloudless sky was such a brilliant blue.

This was about 7 p.m. on Saturday evening when I went out for a second walk. It was really a beautiful night.   Sunday was a different story.  Clouds moved in and we had quite a bit of rain on Sunday, but the snow stayed in the mountains.

I'm reading - In addition to two nonfiction books (Learned Hopefulness by Dan Tomasula, PhD and Fault Lines by Karl Pillemer, PhD,) I am reading Two Old Women by Velma Wallis, which is an Alaska Legend of Betrayal, Courage and Survival.  One of the women in my book club wants this to be our next book group read.

Listening to - scripture study Youtube videos and podcasts, like Real Talk and Don't Miss This.

Watching - Inventing Anna on NetFlix. We thought we had finished the final episode last week, when we found out there was a 9th episode.  There was way more language in the last episode that I like, but the series overall was fascinating.  It is based on the true story of Anna (Sorkin) Delvey, who conned a whole lot of people out of a whole lot of money.  After watching the series, I put a book about the case on hold at the library, so I will probably be reading that next.

Sunday night, we watched FYRE The Greatest Party That Never Happened on Netflix.  It is another fascinating "true crime" documentary.

Cooking - I made a couple of homemade pizzas for dinner on Saturday.   These were pepperoni pizzas with onion and mushrooms on premade crusts.

Sunday I made slow cooker pot roast stroganoff.  It was excellent.  You an find the recipe here.

I'm feeling - well physically, mentally and spiritually.  It has been a restful sabbath.

I'm thinking - About Josh's plans to apply at Brigham Young University Idaho for fall semester.

I'm praying for -
  • All those suffering as a result of the war in Ukraine
  • Healing and reconciliation in my family
  • Knowing God's will about some future plans
  • Josh to get accepted into BYU-Idaho
I'm grateful  for -
  • A restful, relaxing, rejuvenating Sabbath
  • Getting a new iPhone because my old phone quit working
  • Naps - both Saturday and Sunday
  • Getting back to church in person
Other stuff about this weekend -

Friday afternoon and evening we spent, first at the Apple Store and then at the T-Mobile store so I could get a new phone.  My old iPhone 7, that I have had for six years, had quit working.  I ended up getting a great deal on a new iPhone 13 at the T-Mobile store.  Saturday, Josh went over and got a new phone as well. Charly plans to take advantage of the deal next week.

Saturday afternoon, I filled my Honda with gas and got it washed.  I paid $4.75 per gallon - almost $18 for a 1/4 tank of gas for my CRV.

Sunday morning Charly and I went to church in person at our home congregation. As you can see from this picture, we were some of the first people there for the service.  Charly and I stayed for the separate men's and women's scripture study classes after the main service. Josh went to services at a young adult congregation.  He said lunch was served after the service, so he enjoyed a bit of fellowship and good food in addition to worship.

Sunday afternoon, I took a nice nap and did some indexing.  After dinner, Charly and I relaxed and watched some TV.

Not much planned for this week. The only things on the calendar are church book group meeting on Thursday night and closing on our mortgage refi on Friday afternoon.  It always seems that even on a week when I don't have much planned, things always come up to keep me pretty busy.   Such is life.

That's all for now.  I hope the week is a good one for you.
