ON THE EIGHTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS – THE MONTH OF AUGUST
In August my father decided he would come to Le Grand-Pressigny with us – we had been trying to persuade him to come for four years.
On the way we called at the grave of his uncle Sam in northern France, who was killed in the Great War in 1916, for my father to pay his respects.
My dad was more than happy to sample the social life in the village and the weather was fantastic. Beautiful blue skies, sunshine and warm temperatures for a whole week with not a drop of rain.
We did a lot of sight-seeing, showing my dad the area with a certain amount of pride.
Of course, the area has a good deal of history, some of it much closer to my dad’s lifetime than the Plantagenets.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE !!
