KOOL TV BABE OF THE WEEK: 'THE BRIDGE's SOFIA HELIN

And so, British BBC 2 and 4 viewers will be saying goodbye to another hit international drama thriller series translating well beyond its original home shore life - the final series of the well written, just the right side of plausible The Bridge (or 'Broen' /'Bron' as originally known back in Denmark and Sweden), showcasing that unique and certainly different kind of female heroine of the kind we've ever experienced before with maverick cop Saga Noren, as played to perfection by the striking Swedish blonde beauty, Sofia Helin. And Miss Helin has truly been given a superb role to make the most of- Saga being blessed and cursed with Asperger syndrome, across a four year run that has seen her evolve and show so many layers alongside her often dangerous and fraught investigations- bringing us black comedy laughs, relatable yet unrelatable at the same time drama via her personal life (along the way, with her blunt directness, often completely insulting and baffling everyone without knowing it!), and the intriguing conflicts often wrought with her fellow detectives when assigned to the most challenging of cases, utilizing her often deductively brilliant and focused mind and instincts fused with a fearless pursuant attitude towards the criminals she locks paths on, of which this acclaimed final season plotline has involved a unique series of execution style murders..

Having been a more than worthy successor to that other groundbreaking female detective in Sarah Lund (as played by Sofie Grabol), from the Danish triumph The Killing, beyond Saga it's going to be interesting to see what the distinctive Miss Helin will do next going beyond her already notable film and TV work...
